Shop Management Seminar 2022

OSU Agricultural Education and OATA is again partnering to offer a week-long seminar on Welding and Woods Shop Management July 25-28, 2022 at Sutherlin High School.  Participants will be able to focus on the content and training that will best fit their own situation.

Description:  This week-long session will provide you with the confidence to teach manufacturing skills and tools. Designed for introductory and intermediate welding and woods shop manufacturing teachers, this customizable and modular course will prepare you for the requirements you’ve never been formally trained on before: hands-on curriculum, maintenance, projects, funding, and machine selection.

This course can be taken either for PDUs or for OSU Graduate Credits.   If taking for credits, there will be no lab fee but you must pay for the credits after registering with OSU Ag Ed (information will be sent to you after you register here).  If only taking for PDUs, the fee for the week is $600.  You will be invoiced after registering.  The fee includes all materials, lunches, curriculum, and dinner two nights.

Jul 25, 2022 -  Jul 28, 2022
08:00 -  17:00
The registration period is from Jan 01, 2022 08:00 to Jul 26, 2022 08:00

Event description:

You will have the choice to either focus on welding or wood shop, with modules and flexible time so you can focus on the equipment, instruction, and projects that will be most useful for your program. Our goal is for you to leave ready to maximize the shop you have at home. Participating teachers will leave with all electronic resources, a binder of handouts and project guides, project examples you will build in lab and can use in your program when you get home, teaching resources, curriculum, weld examples, and more. You will be asked ahead of time to complete a survey of current level of experience, your shop facilities you have to work with, and other information that will allow the instructors to tailor the week to best fit your needs and wants.

Format
Classes will run 8am to 5pm Monday thru Thursday.

Lunch will be provided Monday thru Thursday.  Dinner will be provided Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
